PRAY FOR PROTECTION While praying for us, Jesus prayed to God, “THAT YOU PROTECT THEM FROM THE EVIL ONE” [Jn 17:15 NI]. Yes, Jesus gave us “AUTHORITY … TO OVERCOME ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY” [Lk 10:19 NI] and in spiritual warfare we can use Jesus’ “NAME” [Mk 16:17] but in praying for protection from the evil one, we need to follow Jesus’ example and pray to God. This is consistent with what Jesus advised us in the prayer He instructed us to pray daily to God, “DELIVER US FROM THE EVIL ONE” [Mt 6:13 NKJ]. Do you ask God to protect you from the evil one?
