ACCEPT THE INVITE
Jesus was at a table eating and sharing teachings, when one of the
guests said to Jesus “The greatest blessing of all is to be at the
banquet in God’s kingdom” [Lk 14:15 CE]. Jesus responded with
a teaching story, saying “A MAN ONCE GAVE A GREAT
BANQUET AND INVITED A LOT OF GUESTS” [Lk 14:16
CE]. Then proceeded to relate how the invited guests begin making
excuses, why they could not come. When informed of the excuses,
the man became angry and instructed his servants to go and bring
many less fortunate to the feast. After this was done, there was still
room and he gave instructions to get even more people until his
house was full. Jesus concluded the story “NOT ONE OF THE
GUESTS I FIRST INVITED WILL GET EVEN A BITE OF
MY FOOD” [Lk 14:24 CE]. Many people are invited, called,
drawn, etc. to God’s kingdom. Unfortunately for them, some make
excuses why they cannot accept the invite. Do you accept the
invite?
