DO NOT COMPROMISE THE TRUTH!
Jesus teaches us in many ways including by His example. One day
Jesus was entering Jericho and a very rich man named Zacchaeus,
who may have gotten some of his money in unethical ways, wanted
to see Jesus but was very short so he climbed a tree to see over the
crowd. Jesus saw Zacchaeus and told him to “COME DOWN”
[Lk 19:5] so he could be a guest at his house. People immediately
criticized Jesus because Zacchaeus was a known “sinner” [Lk
19:7], even though Jesus did not in any way indicate He approved
of Zacchaeus’ sins. Notice, Jesus did not compromise His message
or change what or how He teaches to make it more appealing to
sinners. Apparently just being around Jesus and listening to Him
was sufficient to set Zacchaeus “FREE” [Jn 8:32] from sin. Jesus
then made the point that He “CAME TO FIND LOST PEOPLE
AND SAVE THEM” [Lk 19:10 IC]. Following Jesus example and
reaching out to sinners is good, remembering that Jesus tells us He
does “EXACTLY WHAT THE FATHER TOLD ME TO DO”
[Jn 14:31 IC]. Reach out to sinners because God guides us, not just
because they are sinners. Bring people including sinners to Jesus
and His teachings so they “WILL KNOW THE TRUTH, AND
THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE” [Jn 8:32 NI]. Do you like
being around Jesus and following Him?
