HAS TO ASK
Near the conclusion of the last supper with His apprentices, Jesus
said to Peter, "SATAN HAS ASKED TO SIFT ALL OF YOU AS
WHEAT" [Lk 22:31 NI]. Jesus then told Peter He prayed for Him
and Peter bragged he would never fall away, to which Jesus
responded that Peter would deny Him three times. Subsequently,
we know Peter did deny knowing Jesus. Sometimes in this
interesting story, we overlook that Satan had to "ASKED". If we
remember the story of Job, Satan had get God's permission [Job
1:8-12]. Satan is subordinate to God and has to ask permission.
When Jesus tells us God gave Him "ALL AUTHORITY IN
HEAVEN AND ON EARTH" [Mt 28:18], this includes authority
over Satan. So, when Jesus tells us He has given us
"AUTHORITY ... TO OVERCOME ALL THE POWER OF
THE ENEMY" [Lk 10:19 NI], believe it and know you have
authority over Satan, especially when you use Jesus' "NAME"
[Mk 16:17]. Do you have power over Satan?
