JESUS SPEAKS THE TRUTH!
Jesus states, “JONAH WAS IN THE STOMACH OF THE BIG FISH FOR
THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS. IN THE SAME WAY, THE SON OF
MAN WILL BE IN THE GRAVE THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS”
[Mt 12:40 IC]. At another time Jesus taught, “THE SON OF MAN MUST BE
KILLED AND THEN RISE FROM DEATH AFTER THREE DAYS” [Mk
8:31 IC]. Yet, manmade teachings result in the tradition that Jesus died late on the
sixth day of the week (Friday afternoon) and rose from the dead early on the first
day of the week (Sunday morning). Many have difficulty finding “THREE
DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS” from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. As
we believe Jesus tells the truth and knows how to count, one possible explanation
is that the Passover, is also referred to as a day of rest or “the Sabbath” [Lk
23:54], that year was on Friday and Jesus was crucified on Thursday, as John
says, “it was the Preparation Day of the Passover” [Jn 19:14 NKJ]. Although
the four accounts of Jesus ministry on earth recorded more than twenty years later,
three from oral tradition and one from John’s memory, are essentially in
agreement on important details such as the words of Jesus, some minor details do
differ and John’s eye witness account may be more accurate. Also supporting
Jesus “THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS” and the “the Preparation Day
of the Passover” being on Thursday is the mention that “The next day, the one
after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate” [Mt
27:72 NI]. A day of rest such as Passover has less rules and restrictions than the
day of rest, the Sabbath or the seventh day of the week, allowing them to travel to
Pilate, remembering that the day before the Passover they were careful “to avoid
ceremonial uncleanness the Jews did not enter the palace; they wanted to be
able to eat the Passover” [Jn 18:28 NI]. Whenever there are differences between
what Jesus says and manmade traditions or other people’s opinions such as Paul,
always believe Jesus who assures us “WHATEVER I SAY IS JUST WHAT
THE FATHER HAS TOLD ME TO SAY” [Jn 12:50 NI]. Do you believe Jesus?
