RESOLVING OFFENSE
One time, Jesus told His apprentices how to deal with a fellow
believer or brother that was offending or sinning against them.
First, He recommended going to the person “IN PRIVATE” [Mt
18:15 IC]. If that does not resolve the issue, then take “ONE OR
TWO OTHER PEOPLE” [Mt 18:16 IC] with you to confront the
person. If that does not work, then present it to the community of
believers or church and if the person still does not listen, treat him
as “ONE WHO DOES NOT BELIEVE IN GOD” [Mt 18:17 IC].
This may be referring to an ongoing offense, as many times Jesus
recommends we “FORGIVE” [Mt 6:14] others. Do you forgive
others?
