FAITH KILLED A TREE When Jesus went up to a fig tree and found no fruit, He said to the tree "MAY NO ONE EVER EAT FRUIT FROM YOU AGAIN"  [Mk 11:14 NI]{Mt 21:19} and the tree dried up and died. If you have ever had a fig tree, you know that you can see if it will have fruit, long before it actually has fruit and some have suggested a teaching from this story about not bearing fruit. The only teaching we can be sure about is that later Jesus used the dead tree as an example saying to His apprentices who heard what He said to the tree, "IF YOU HAVE FAITH AND NO DOUBTS, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO THE SAME AS I DID TO THIS TREE" [Mt 21:21 ER]. Before you start speaking to trees or mountains, remember Jesus tells us God guided Him on what to "SAY" [Jn 12:49]. Do you talk to God before speaking? Home, BasicSubjects, Scriptures
