GOD GIVES AUTHORITY
One Saturday, the seventh day of the week also called the Sabbath,
Jesus was walking through a grain field with His apprentices. His
apprentices were taking some of the heads of grain, rubbing them
in their hands and then eating the grain. Some of the legalistic
religious leaders accused them of working, by harvesting grain on
the Sabbath, which was against the Jewish law. Jesus responded, by
reminding them how David once broke religious laws, when he and
his men were hungry and then stated "THE SABBATH WAS
MADE TO BENEFIT MAN, AND NOT MAN TO BENEFIT
THE SABBATH. AND I, THE MESSIAH, HAVE
AUTHORITY EVEN TO DECIDE WHAT MEN CAN DO ON
SABBATH DAYS" [Mk 2:28 TL]{Mt 12:8}{Lk 6:5}. Manmade
religious laws frequently conflicted with Jesus in His ministry.
Remember Jesus said what God told Him to "SAY" [Jn 12:49].
People are still making up religious rules today. Our best defense is
to follow Jesus' example and seek God's guidance. Does God guide
you?
